Hola! My name is Melissa and I’m an islander running on french vanilla iced coffee.
I’m a free-spirit who’s always on the road and getting herself into trouble. I’m an adventure seeker that loves heights but hates stairs. A morning person that wakes up no later than nine and takes at least two naps on the daily. I’m a cat lady that finds herself taking care of cats that never pay attention to her. I am an extrovert who needs social interactions but likes to stay in on the weekends. I’m an open book who doesn’t like to be questioned.
Now you know a little bit of who I am now, but here’s a little bit of my background story:
Did you know my city, Santo Domingo, means “Saint Sunday” in Spanish?
At the age of 17 I decided that I needed a change and moved to the U.S. to study Marketing. Four years later, I had a degree, a bunch of friends from all over the world, incredible experiences and ever-lasting memories. After graduating and working for another year, I decided to attend a few music festivals, move back home to Dominican Republic and backpack Southeast Asia. As soon as I got back home, I decided that it was time for me to get my life together and get over my quarter-life crisis.
Shortly after I found myself a job where I made a lot of money but had me under so much stress that my health was compromised. I have now quit that job, happily moved to a new place with my boyfriend, and proud to say that I’m starting my own freelance business. Don’t get me wrong, I still struggle with life on a daily basis, but I’m figuring it out as I go. Isn’t that what we are here for anyways?
